Wrap Jacket Styled by Sarah

Brrr, it’s cold up here in the Northeast (and most places in the US right now actually) and this girl is not liking it. So, I figured I should share some pictures that I took this fall (as much as I love using the snow as a backdrop I really do not like the temperatures that come along with it).

This wrap coat is my new favorite coat and I will not stop wearing it no matter how cold it gets here (I even wore it in the – 10-degree weather)! I snagged this coat during one of the 50% off sales at Forever21.com this fall. It was on sale for $28 then another 50% off so I walked away with a $14 jacket and free shipping! Major online shopping win for me! I now want this coat in both brown and black but will hold off for now because I’m not made of money.

I am telling you, this coat is sooo versatile. I can style it with a more dressy look (I wore it on NYE with OTK boots and leather leggings), with a casual city look (like I did here in these pictures), or with leggings and sneakers (I love wearing this coat when I travel with my Lululemon leggings and Nike sneakers!).  I’d also highly recommend this navy blue color. At the time, the only color on sale in my size was the navy blue and I would like to think that happened for a reason b/c I am obsessed with this color. I already have a few black jackets, a gray jacket, and a white jacket so I felt that it was time for me to add another color to my jacket collection. I like the blue color b/c I feel comfortable wearing it with black, gray, and brown (I’ve never been against mixing neutrals but for those of you who are this is a great option).

Also, the material of this coat is to die for. It reminds me of a thick felt blanket, it’s just so soft! I know that if I spent more money on a wrap coat it would probably be even thicker material but I think that the weight of this coat makes it even more wearable and versatile. In the fall, I wore this jacket alone or with a cardigan underneath. Now that the temperature hardly ever gets above 40 degrees, I usually wear a sweatshirt or my Patagonia Better Sweater Jacket underneath it.

Sadly, Forever 21 no longer carries this same exact jacket but they do have a few very similar ones like this Belted Wrap Coat or this Hooded Wrap Coat. Amazon also carries a ton of wrap coats for under $100 that come in a wide variety of colors and have many good reviews: Gray Hooded Wrap Coat and Short Fleece Hooded Wrap Coat. This $21 Wrap Trench Coat from Amazon is a good lightweight option for those of you that live in a warmer area (lucky you!). If you’re looking for a more elegant option then this Long Wool Blend Wrap Coat is a good idea, just be sure to read the reviews about sizing. I’ve also included some clickable, shoppable photo links below all for under $100.

I hope that you enjoyed this post! I look forward to putting together many other cold-weather outfit posts (this below-freezing weather has me thinking shawls, scarfs, snow boots, etc). Just remember, you can still be stylish even when the weather is -10 degrees!

Oh the weather outside is frightful, but your outfit can still be delightful!

XOXO ~
