Girls Night Out at Bobbles & Lace {Styled by McKenzie}

6 / 4 / 216 / 4 / 21

Last night I had way too much fun. When you mix shopping, with wine, Otto’s Pizza, and some of your best girl friends you get yourself a good time {and some cute new clothes}. I don’t know why it took me so long to visit Bobbles and Lace, a newer boutique in Portland’s Old Port area, or to schedule a girl’s night out there but it unfortunately did and I’m so thankful that McKenzie reached out and offered to host one for me.

Bobbles & Lace is a very trendy boutique located on Milk St in Portland {parking was honestly super easy!}. They also have locations in other New England states but the Maine boutique is run by two local ladies, Kelsey and McKenzie. While you can browse and buy the clothes online or via the shop’s Instagram, {just DM them if you see something you like and they can hold it aside for you after you pay over the phone} I highly recommend shopping in person or even hosting your own Girls Night Out there. I personally really enjoyed being styled by McKenzie. She put together some amazing outfits and pulled some pieces for me that I normally would have been too afraid to try on.

Everything from their shoe wall, to the aesthetic of the shop, to their high quality jewelry will make you want to buy everything in sight. While you can get a really good taste of what their clothes are like from browsing their inventory online I would compare it to Boohoo, Zara, and Nasty Gal but better, especially where you can shop it in-person and be styled by the ladies there. Additionally, the price is similar to what you will find at Lulus.com or Abercrombie or honestly a lot of retailers nowadays but again its all about the experience, return policy, customer service, and getting to try on the items in house.

If you have any questions about the boutique, my shopping experience, or hosting a girls night out there feel free to reach out to me!

A Quick Denim Update

1 / 12 / 21

Hey all,

It has been a hot minute since I’ve sat down to write. I have to admit I’ve missed it but also haven’t been super driven to blog lately {unfortunately}. Life has been a little crazy with work and moving and blah blah blah. But, I’m going to try and make a point of it now that I’m feeling slightly settled {hoping to get a New House post up sometime soon}.

Todayyyy, we are talking denim. Honestly, one of my favorite topics. Denim is pretty easy to shop for {not as easy as shoes or bags though} & it’s pretty versatile.  I was inspired by the sale on Levi.com to share some of my favorite recent denim finds with you. And honestly, I actually purchased four of the products featured! My goal is normally to spend $20 or less on my denim and these sales are making it easy to stick right in that range.

Sooo I think the easiest way to break it down is to do a quick little review of the three different sites that I’m sharing today:

Levi.com: I was inspired by this sale {50% off sale items with code LASTCALL} so I think it’s only proper for me start with them. I saw this sale originally featured on Dress Up Buttercup’s insta and couldn’t help but purchase a few items myself. I honestly haven’t had great experiences with this brand in the past and have no clue what size I am so I’m very interested to see how the items fit when they come in. Oh yeah and another trick is sign up for their FREE Red Tab Member Program to get FREE shipping {you’re welcome}.

Forever 21: AKA still one of my favorites – I live for their 50% sale promotion {code: Extra50 going on right now}. While their products may not stand the test of time {like many Levis actually do..} they’re trendy and fun and normally dirt cheap if you buy them at the right time. If you’re wanting to try out a denim trend like destressing or acid wash or even a denim jack fad this is probably the site to buy from.

Old Navy: Honestly I’ve had the best luck here lately. Old Navy gets the sizing and cut right over and over again whether I’m shopping for my mom or myself. While they normally create more traditional pieces, they’ve been stepping it up the past few years with more modern cuts, distressing, fit options, etc. Click over to the clearance page then sort by jeans to find a bunch of pants that are right in the $23 range {after the 25% taken off at check out}.

Hope this helped! Leave some feedback or message me if you found something that you liked & thanks so much for reading!

Super Affordable Prescription Glasses Styled by Sarah {$5 off code included}

6 / 28 / 206 / 28 / 20

I’ve been meaning to write this blog post for basically the past year now…but you are 100% missing out if you aren’t buying your prescription glasses through Zenni Optical. My friend Analiese told me about this website years ago and I was a little skeptical at first but now I’m one of their biggest fans. I’ve now purchased three pairs of glasses ($135.13 total for the 3 glasses) through the website after spending over $500 on Kate Spade ones at my eye doctor’s office. Not only is the price awesome on Zenni but the quality is good and you can customize your glasses however you would like.

All you need to know in order to order prescription lenses from Zenni is a few simple pieces of information from your eye doctor (for mine I just needed to know my left eye, right eye, and PD). The options can seem endless and overwhelming on the site but here are a few tips:

  1. Be open to the different customization options
  2. Seach by PD {the distance between your pupils I beleive} – mine is relatively small at 53 so that narrowed down my options
  3. Use the favorite or “heart” function in order to save the ones that you like

There are many different ways that you can customize your Zenni lenses (polarized, mirrored, anti-scratch, etc). My favorite customization would have to be the Blokz blue light blocking technology. I opted for this option with all three of my glasses. It doesn’t cost much to upgrade and sometimes they run promotions where you can add it on for free. This would also be a good option if you didn’t require prescription glasses but still wanted the blue light blocking protection.

If you’re like me and only need glasses for distance or when driving then the option to have prescription sunglasses lenses is a huge advantage. They have a lot of stylish, classy, and trendy options but my favorite ones are the ones that have the magnetic sunglass lenses. These remind of the ones that my grandmother has but wayyy better lol.

By the way, this post is not sponsored at all. I secretly wish Zenni would sponsor me but we’ll work on that for the future hehe. For now, I have a $5 off referral code, just click this link here. Anyways, thanks so much for reading and feel free to reach out to me with any questions!
