We are officially one day away from one of my favorite days of the year. Idk why, but I’ve always been a fan of Valentine’s day. I think it started with those fun Valentine’s celebrations in grade school where you handed out sweet/funny cards to your classmates. I know, I get it, it’s such a commercialized holiday totally directed towards consumers but the hopeless romantic inside of me just eats this stuff up!
So for today’s post, I’m doing a little Q&A with my Q-T (cutie), Greg, and sharing my Valentine’s Day Playlist on Spotify. If you’re just here for the playlist keep scrolling. When I started this blog one of my goals was to be as raw and transparent as possible. I wanted to use this as a tool to document and record my life so I thought this Q&A would be a fun way to do that. Greg & I totally bond over this type of stuff and we had a really fun time last night asking each other questions and laughing at each other’s responses. I also wanted this Valentine’s Day post to be more from the heart since I already shared a more consumer-oriented one here with my Valentine’s Gift Guide.
What would be the ultimate Valentine’s Day date?
G: We would cook a home cooked meal together (steak with caramelized onions and green peppers topped with parmesan garlic butter and a side of asparagus along with creamy mashed potatoes with a dollop of sour cream). Then we would share a pint of Red Velvet Cake Ben & Jerry’s ice cream while watching a *stupid* Rom-Com like Forgetting Sarah Marshall or anything with Ashton Kutcher.
S: Omg yes I love Ashton Kutcher and Red Velvet Cake Ben & Jerry’s.
What do you think about Valentine’s Day in general (like how does it make you feel)?
G: It’s a nice excuse to go out of your way for your loved one. However, at the same time, it’s kind of a joke because I do that all of the time no matter what. I’m honestly not a big Valentine’s Day guy. Let’s just say I don’t enjoy it as much as Christmas.
What would be your favorite Valentine’s Day present?
G: Anything that Styled by Sarah picks out for me.
S: Awww
Do you consider yourself a romantic guy?
G: Not at all but I do whatever I can to please & satisfy my lady.
What do you remember most about Valentine’s Day in the past?
G: My mumma would always buy us these beautiful orange chocolate things that were so yummy. She would also always encourage us to make our own cards with construction paper and have us write them from the heart instead of buying cards at the store. I would usually just cut out paper hearts and then tape lollipops on to them.
What’s your favorite love song?
G: Amazing by Kanye West
S: I don’t think that’s a love song…
What couple inspires you to keep the romance alive and to lead a romantic life even when it isn’t Valentine’s Day?
G: Tom & Gisele. They always find a way to see each other even with their busy lives. They also encourage each other to lead a successful life when it comes to their eating and fitness habits.
S: Honestly, such a good response!
I feel like I haven’t shared some music with you girls for a while so I figured this would be the perfect time. There’s a huge variety in this playlist, new & old, everything from country to pop to R&B. I hope you enjoy it!
XOXO ~
