Spring Break Series {One Pieces} Styled by Sarah

Hey girlies! It’s officially spring break for me (I was supposed to be in class today from 8:30 until 4  but luckily all of my classes got canceled due to weather issues) so what better way to start it off than with another Spring Break Series post! I was actually blown away by how many of you voted on Instagram that you wanted to see this post before the Bikini post (it was like 56% for Bikini post vs 44% for a One-piece post). For those of you who did vote for the One-piece post, I hope that this exceeds your expectations and I’m sorry for putting it off a little (it’s been a really busy & long week at school…).

I’m a big fan of one-piece bathing suits. I feel like even just 5 to 10 years ago they didn’t have as many stylish one-pieces and it wasn’t as much of a trend. We’re lucky now to have so many great, sexy, stylish, and chic options. I think the best part of a one-piece bathing suit is that it allows girls to feel more comfortable and you can eat that yummy taco and drink that extra large margarita and not worry as much. I’m also happy that this trend highlights the fact that sometimes showing less skin is more sexy and feminine.

I formatted this post just like the bikini one and mentioned some of my favorite one-piece styles. Amazon links are incorporated into the text and there are clickable/shoppable pictures to go with each style. Also, I have to mention, most of these suits are under $25!

Cutouts: So. Many. Cute. Options! These cutouts really add to the suits by showing some extra skin. I consider a cutout to be anything from the lace-up look, to larger mesh, to big holes on the side of the bathing suit. This $10 Scalloped Cut Out Suit from Amazon is such a good deal and so classy! I really want this $11 Lace Cut Out One Piece and this Printed Cut Out Cupshe One Piece that I found on Amazon. I think that my sister would really like this Floral Lace-Up Swimsuit.

Monokini: I consider a monokini to be the closest thing to a bikini. It’s like a cutout one piece with a very large cutout! I have a suit just like this Striped Monokini from Amazon but in navy blue/white stripes and I love it! This Monokini from Amazon is similar, but instead of stripes, it’s just monochromatic.

Belted Bathing Suit: I’m loving this trend. I think that a belt can be very accentuating! Belts are no longer just for jeans, pants, and dresses, they have no made their way to bathing suits and I’m super happy about it! This one from Cupshe on Amazon is more of a wrap-tie styled from Amazon but it still reminds me of the belted look.

Fun back: It’s so much easier to find a one piece with a cute back compared to a bikini with a fun back. Sometimes it means settling for a more plain/simple front but some girls prefer that! I’m also a big fan of the plunge low back look! I love the super low back on these two from Amazon: Stripped One Piece and Low Back Sexy One Piece.

Fun Sayings/Graphics: So, I’m still deciding if I’m over this trend or not…I had the classic red Bae Watch swimsuit and loved it. I just love how fun & playful the quotes are! I’d probably stay away from the more common ones and try out a unique saying. I’m also loving the fruit graphics!

Off the Shoulder: Just like bikinis & shirts, this is a huge trend seen in one-piece bathing suits as well. I actually just bought this $17 Off the Shoulder Polka Dot Mesh One Piece (sized up to a medium) from Amazon for spring break and I’m SO excited to wear it. It’s so flattering and will be good for a day when I want to pig out! Amazon also has these additional off the shoulder suits for under $30: Palm Leaf One PieceSimple Ruffle Swimsuit, and Floral Ruffle Suit.

One Shoulder: Just like with bikinis the one shoulder look isn’t as common as the off the shoulder look, it’s still so fun! I featured the bikini version of this awesome Dramatic One Shoulder One Piece in the bikini post. If you like unique swimsuits or making a big statement then I think this one piece is perfect for you.

Fuller Bust: Don’t worry girls, ASOS extended their Fuller Bust collection to their one pieces as well!! They also have a Tall collection for their one pieces for those lucky girls who have really long torsos!

Along with the ones that I listed above, some other trends include (I linked an example if you click on the word!): Vertical stripes, hip straps, deep plunging necklines, scalloping, mesh detailing, high leg Brazilian look, velvet (swimsuits that look way too much like bodysuits…), floral embroidery, bustier structure, tassels, lingerie-like, and hip frill/ruffle detail.

Well, that concludes this post! Please reach out to me if you have any swimsuit questions or want more recommendations. I’ll do a post similar to this one when summer is here!

XOXO ~
