Revived by Elvive Styled by Sarah

Over the years I have really learned to love my hair. I used to be self-conscious about my frizzy, dull, wavy hair but since I discovered curlers, straighteners, and products I’ve become more thankful for the hair that I was given. However, part of loving your hair should include taking proper care of it, right?! I totally forgot to mention this in my new year’s resolution post, New Year, Same me {Just Better}, but one of my goals this year is actually to take even better care of my hair. I thought that this collab with L’Oreal Elvive came at a really good time to help me reinforce that goal.

Before we jump into the products, I’m going to quickly share my current hair care routine:
– I get my hair cut 2 to 4 times a year by my AMAZING hairdresser Kirby (she’s currently at Mint Salon Block in Falmouth, ME)
– My hair is 100% natural (no color, no extensions, etc)
– I try to wash my hair every other day (I have really dry skin so luckily it doesn’t get greasy easily)
– My straightener broke a while ago and I honestly don’t have the money to replace it so I’ve been exclusively curling my hair
– I usually try to let my hair air-dry rather than blow drying it (the less heat the better)
– I really need to get better at using my heat protectant products (ayyy new year’s resolution)
– I’m honestly a drugstore hair product junkie because my hair care budget is very small!

Now time for the products (including links!)! First, I want to highlight the wonderful Elvive Extraordinary Oil (linked to Amazon) that Influenster sent me for free as part of their campaign with L’Oréal Paris! This formula made from camellia and sunflower oil is very versatile. You can use it on dry or wet hair, in the shower, before blow drying, or after styling your hair (pretty much any time that you want)! I usually prefer to apply the oil after curling my hair. I use the oil while brushing out my curls with my fingers and to pat down the flyaways on the top of my head! My favorite thing about it (which I know can be a concern for some people) is the smell! It has a sweet feminine vanilla scent to it. I also like how lightweight and natural looking this formula is. It doesn’t weigh down my hair or make it look greasy (I’m always very worried about both of these factors when choosing hair products).

And now for some of the other products that I use in my hair care routine: Linked to their pages on Amazon!
– No joke, I’ve had my $35 Conair Cord Keeper (retractable cord) blow dryer since I was 14 & I still love it
– I’m now on my 3rd Curlipop Curling Wand from Bed Head ($18) (not because it breaks but instead because I lose it somehow?!?)
L’Oreal Sleek It Iron Straight Heatspray ($4) (Used to use got2b Guardian Angel but I think the L’Oréal one is less expensive)
L’Oreal Blow Dry It Quick Dry Primer Spray
